Investors Chasing Yale and the Future of Alpha

Kristi Kuechler, President of the FOX Private Investor Center, will present an overview of how family offices have been “chasing Yale” in pursuit of double digit portfolio returns. Kristi will share asset allocation trends across family offices and highlight the significant ways that family offices differ from institutional investors.

We will then discuss trends across the investment industry and how they may impact investors and family offices as they continue to seek outsize returns for their families, and will incorporate survey results from the 2017 FOX Global Investment Survey of 118 family offices:
Rethinking asset class allocation and the decline of active management amidst the rise of passive and factor-based investment strategies
Reassessment of hedge funds, in the face of industry-wide weak returns, and the reconsideration of private equity as investors seek the coveted illiquidity premium
The accelerating pursuit of direct investments in real estate and operating businesses by investors and family offices.  We will  discuss many of the reasons - both investment and non-investment related - behind this trend

1:00 p.m. Peer Dialogue

1:30 p.m. Adjourn
