The FOX Canadian Executive Council will be comprised of CEOs of the largest, most sophisticated multi-generational family offices in Canada, pursuing the best practices for complex family enterprises.

The purpose of this council is to elevate the professional and personal performance of these executives and therefore enhance the operation of the broader family enterprise and long term well-being of the family.

Each Council works from a FOX developed curriculum that is tailored to the needs of the Council. Meetings include content from the curriculum as well as specific topics and discussions requested by the Council members. FOX provides the appropriate internal and external resources for lively, fruitful meetings.

8:30 a.m.		Participant Introductions Participants to spend 5 minutes sharing the family profile of the family they represent (generations, own a business, how you support the family,etc..) and identifying 1 question that is top of mind that you want to talk to their peers about.

9:30 a.m.		How to Build a Strong Family Enterprise Alexandre Monnier, President, Family Office Exchange This session introduces the concept of the family enterprise (what a family owns together and wants to preserve as family capital – financial, business, philanthropic, social, etc.). This overview explains the importance of working together to determine what the family enterprise looks like and what will be passed on to future generations. Effective governance structures and decision-making processes help sustain the family enterprise. Participants will gain an understanding of governance in the family setting, the key elements of governance (vision, leadership and decision-making) and the variety of structures that support the family enterprise.

10:45 a.m.		Executive Dialogue Facilitated by Mariann Mihailidis, Managing Director, Family Office Exchange We will start the dialogue by addressing: 1. Type of office you think you have 2. Activity that the office supports 3. What you do in house vs. outsource FOX will provide best practice/benchmarking data to about the types of offices and services done in house vs. outsourced. Remainder of the dialogue will cover questions identified by the group in participant introductions.

2:15 p.m.		Next Generation Family Education Mariann Mihailidis and Alexandre Monnier Drawing from FOX research, this session will cover owner education statistics from FOX benchmarking, designing an education system, moving from theory to practice in education and curriculum design.
