The FOX Executive Council '04 is comprised of CEOs of the largest, most sophisticated multi-generational family offices in the U.S. pursuing the best practices for complex family enterprises.

The purpose of this council is to elevate the professional and personal performance of these executives and therefore enhance the operation of the broader family enterprise and long term well-being of the family.

Each Council works from a FOX developed curriculum that is tailored to the needs of the Council. Meetings include content from the curriculum as well as specific topics and discussions requested by the Council members. FOX provides the appropriate internal and external resources for lively, fruitful meetings.

8:30 a.m.		Welcome, Introductions and Group Updates Facilitators: Robin Letchinger, Family Enterprise Market Leader, and Glen Johnson, Chief Operating Officer, Family Office Exchange
9:30 a.m.		Six Stages of Readiness for Change James Grubman, PhD, Family Wealth Consulting In this interactive session, Dr. Grubman will present his six stages of readiness for change and discuss the implications of each of these stages. He then will provide suggestions on what you might do to understand and potentially resolve the family situation or concern you shared in the worksheet (if completed in advance). (There will be two 15-minute breaks during this three-hour session)

1:45 p.m.		The Future of Wealth Management Bill Sullivan, President of FOX Bill Sullivan will share insights from his 10 years as the Global Head of Financial Services Thought Leadership at Capgemini. He will identify the disruptive trends that are shaping the next decade and help us understand who the providers of financial services will be in the future. He will show us how consumers are responding to these new players and how fast the changes are coming. We will all discuss how this impacts the role of the family office and its importance in the industry.

9:00 a.m.		Nuclear and Blended Families and their Unique Dynamics William (“Bill”) M. Pinsof, PhD, LMFT, ABPP, Founder & Director, Pinsof Family Systems LLC How do you “onboard” new in-laws, present prenuptial agreements, manage divorce situations, address the inclusion of stepchildren with multiple marriages, and handle deftly and gracefully many of those conflict-riddled “blended” family situations? Dr. Pinsof will be willing to answer any specific questions that you may have based on his 30 years of experience.

10:45 a.m.		Case study: “Cost Stack” Model A council member and his new CIO will share with the group how they (i) analyzed and elevated transparency around the multiple layers of fees the family was being charged by outside investment managers, fund managers, and custodians, (ii) developed a fee stack model that documented current fees and identified alternative approaches and (iii) worked with the family to create an in-house investment company. Please be prepared to share your office’s current cost summary so that the entire group can benefit from learning about a variety of cost models.

12:00 pm		Security Risk Management Issues for FOX Members Arjo de Jong, Senior Partner, Tridense David Nicastro, Founder and CEO, Secure Source International Two international experts will provide an update on critical (cyber) security issues impacting families today. They will share the family security practices put in place across three dimensions: the physical, digital and human-factor domains of family life. Besides that, they will outline the pro-active monitoring of family profiles on the internet and social media, using state-of-the-art tools to search surface-, deep- and darkweb sources. Attendees with security concerns will be able to ask questions to these two experiences family security advisors.
