The FOX Owner/Operator Council '16 is composed of family members who directly oversee the operation of their family's financial enterprise, with or without staff, working together to share insights and strategies.  
 
The purpose of this council is to provide a forum for these leaders to test ideas, get peer advice, and learn from appropriate experts to improve their performance in managing the family’s wealth and preparing the family for the future.
 
Each Council works from a FOX developed curriculum that is tailored to the needs of the Council. Meetings include content from the curriculum as well as specific topics and discussions requested by the Council members. FOX provides the appropriate internal and external resources for lively, fruitful meetings.

Bruce Boyd, Principal and Senior Managing Director, and Julia Sze, Managing Director of Impact Investing at Arabella Advisors

Impact investing is attracting a lot of interest in the family office community, but many worry that investing for impact means sacrificing return. In this session, Bruce and Julia will demystify this important topic and outline some of the approaches that their clients have used to incorporate an impact investing strategy in their philanthropy and beyond.

Planning Considerations for the Modern Family

As the traditional nuclear family has changed because of evolving social and legal norms, there are implications for family offices and dynastic wealth in family governance, how services are provided, how existing trusts are interpreted and how new estate planning instruments are drafted.  Kim will discuss how divorce and marital status, defining descendants, assisted reproductive technologies, posthumous conception, and other important developments impact working with your 21st century families.
