An Introduction to Values – Identifying Personal & Shared Family Values

This session  will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to be collaborative in developing long-term family goals.

Session Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Isolate values that drive individual roles and attitudes within the family;
  • Define and share personal and family values and guiding principles;
  • Quantify historical and cultural familial values that drive current actions within the family;
  • Articulate how shared family values will impact the future of the family enterprise.

The Finances of Wealth

In this session, you will gain an understanding of  basic concepts you need to clarify your financial goals, make effective decisions to preserve and manage your wealth, and oversee financial advisors with greater confidence, accountability, and results.

Session Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand their relationship with wealth;
  • Create wealth goals and strategize how best to invest to achieve those goals;
  • Interpret a balance sheet, net worth statement, income statement and understand the basics of cash flow and budgeting;
  • Discuss the impact of taxes on investment returns.

Responsible Ownership and Family Leadership Roles

Family member engagement is crucial for the family to want to stay together and to value their family office as an important resource. This session will help participants understand what it means to be a responsible owner and how you can complement your skills and expertise with that of the advisor team led by the family office. 

Session Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate what it means to be a responsible owner;
  • Identify ways that they can participate in the leadership of their family enterprise
  • Understand the leadership roles of the family and the family office.
