Presentation:

Not-So-Great Expectations
Speaker: Jimmy C. Chang, CFA, Chief Equity Strategist, Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director, Rockefeller & Co.

It’s been eight years since the onset of the Great Financial Crisis. While policymakers sought to save the world from the abyss via a series of unconventional policies, the prospect of normalization remains elusive. The Fed’s rate hike in December 2015 is already viewed by some as a policy error, and there is the fear that markets may be losing confidence in central banks’ ability to prop up asset prices and rekindle economic growth. We will take a look at the main issues that have led to the recent market correction, and what may transpire down the road. The world is desperately searching for a sustainable growth catalyst, without which we would have to settle for an era of subdued growth and investment returns.
