Tina D. Milligan, CPA, PFS
Managing Director, BMO Family Office
Tina Milligan is a Managing Director with BMO Family Office, an integrated wealth management provider that serves ultra-affluent individuals, families and family offices across their tax, estate, investment, philanthropic, risk and family capital needs.
Tina joined the organization in 2014 and has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including working with financial institutions and public accounting firms. She oversees the delivery of integrated wealth management advice and client service for ultra-affluent clients. Her expertise includes tax planning and compliance, wealth transfer, charitable and philanthropic planning, and business owner and corporate executive planning.
Tina earned a BS in Accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She attended Roosevelt University Heller College of Business Advisory Board, where she graduated with a MS in Accounting. Tina also attended Concord Law School where she earned her JD.
Ms. Milligan serves on the boards of Chicago Estate Planning Council, Roosevelt University and the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance. She is a member of the AICPA, New York State Society of CPAs and Illinois CPA Society. She frequently speaks on family office and financial planning issues; her most recent presentations include “Tax Planning Strategies for Real Estate Owning Families” for Family Office Exchange; and ”Implications of the 2017 Tax Bill,” a BMO Wealth Management client presentation.
Tina makes her home with her husband and daughter in Wilmette, Illinois. Her love of skiing comes from her days growing up in Vail, Colorado where she ski raced, and then ultimately coached skiing.
Heather Asher Abramson
Regional Director Membership, West
Heather Abramson is the Regional Director of Membership for Family Office Exchange (FOX). Heather has three major roles at FOX. First, she provides a variety of member services and supports the specific needs for family business-owning members. Secondly, Heather is a member of the FOX member development team and assesses the needs of prospective FOX members by helping them achieve their goals. Heather also runs FOX’s Rising Gen Community, which is designed to provide next-generation family members an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and develop skills as future leaders.
Before joining FOX in 2008, Heather served as Strategic Marketing and Events Manager at Aon Corporation. While at Aon, Heather planned and executed more than 100 large-scale events and created the marketing and project execution for Aon’s South America Division. Earlier in her career, she worked on Capitol Hill for a U.S. senator and in the foreign policy department at a lobbying organization. She also has previous experience working in a Chicago-based family office.
Heather has a B.A. degree in Journalism, Public Relations, and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She graduated with honors from DePaul University with an M.A. in Organizational and Multi-cultural Communications.
Karen Rush,
Managing Director, Membership
Karen Rush is Managing Director of the Family Office and Wealth Advisor Markets for Family Office Exchange (FOX). She works with family and advisor members to understand their objectives, providing guidance to help address their needs through the resources available at FOX. She also co-chairs FOX Advisor Councils and assists in the development of new and enhanced service offerings for members. Formerly the events manager, she was responsible for planning all external FOX events, including forums, workshops and regional events.
Prior to joining FOX in 2005, Karen spent 10 years at a large, multi-generational family office as the Communications Coordinator. She worked directly with the family office and family members to develop a family meeting process and an education program for the younger generation.
Karen received a B.A. in political science from Southern Illinois University.
