Overview

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is comprised of 10 members whose individual social, economic and political characteristics are the underpinnings of the Association’s collective prosperity. Frequently overshadowed by its more prominent neighboring countries, particularly China and India, ASEAN continues to emerge as an area of vital economic growth within Southeast Asia and on the global stage.
